The Karnataka state government with the goal to increase the efficiency and morale of women employees and increase their participation in the workforce has notified the Menstrual Leave Policy, 2025. The Government of Karnataka Vide Cabinet Note No. 834/2025, has released Notification of the Karnataka’s Revolutionary Menstrual Leave Policy, 2025. Benefits to woment employees Applicable to all women employees across Karnataka. A paid leave of one day per month as menstrual leave is being extended to women of age group 18 - 52 years Women are not mandated to provide any medical certificate to use the leave. There will be no provision to carry over the leave to the next month The benefits to be extended to all female employees - permanent/contract/outsourced female employees in all industries and establishments (registered under the Factories Act, 1948; Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1961; Plantation Workers Act, 1951; Beedi and Cigar Workers (Conditions of Employment) Act, 1966; and Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961)
